new year plans

I looked back at my 2010 list of goals and I have to say I'm a little disappointed in myself! I mean, I had so much time this year (considering my husband was gone for 7 months of it) and yet I hardly accomplished anything I had set out to do!

For example, I did not get back on my budget (although I was able to save quite a bit of money). I did not read the entire Bible. In fact, I think I gave up on that one about February. Wow. I did journal more, but not nearly as much as I would have liked to! Ok, I did blog more and we got pregnant but the actual "have a baby" part will be part of 2011, not 2010 :)

This year, I think I'll just write down some plans. That seems a bit more flexible than goals, right? Besides, we have so much going on this year I'm not sure what I'll actually have time to do outside of having a baby, transitioning out of the Marine Corps, moving to a new state, getting settled in, and helping my husband get into the routine of going to school.

I think that's my list right there!

But here are a few more things I plan to do in 2011:

*I have decided to be a part of project restyle. While I probably won't be able to keep up with a new project every week, I think it will be helpful in the area of saving money. Which brings me to...

*Live on a tighter budget. With my husband transitioning careers and us moving, we are pretty much obligated to live on less. And yay, that means we're getting back on our budget! (that was complete sarcasm)

*Work off baby weight (boring)

*Journal more (yup, I'm trying this one again)

AND, Most important of all:

*With all of the unknown for us this year, I want to trust God more. I want to be able to hand it all over to Him, knowing that He's already taken care of everything; not that He will take care of it, but that it's already done. I want to be able to listen to Him better and hear Him more clearly so that when He calls me to do something, I'm ready, I hear it and I act, without fear. I want to look back on 2011 and see His hand in every. single. thing.

  1. Ooooo, ooo, oo, that last sentence: "I want to look back on 2011 and see HIS hand in every single thing." That might be my favorite resolution that I've read so far.
    Can I re-do mine? ;)

    Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
