This picture was taken in 2008 on one of my trips to visit my grandma in Maryland. I'm standing in the rain talking to my husband on the phone and my mom took this picture through the glass at a bus stop.

A friend of mine recently turned me onto Money Saving Mom.. an incredible website for us frugal types! My mom taught me way back when to save money when I can. I always go straight for the sale and clearance racks, wait for items to go on sale, always use coupons and thrift shop. The one thing I never really got into (because it seemed so danged confusing) was using coupons in correlation with other coupons and sales... Until now!
My very first experience with this trick was today. Did you know that if you have a CVS card, you can scan it at the price check thing and coupons print out!?!?! I know! I didn't know that either! But I tried it and it worked.
When I scanned my card I got like 6 coupons, but the one I was most interested was the coupon for $2 off Xtra Laundry Detergent. Because, Xtra Laundry Detergent was on sale with your CVS card for... you guessed it: $2!!!
So I paid 17cents (tax) for a bottle of laundry detergent that will do up to 28 loads. Can you say, what a deal (or steal)!?
Needless to say, I'm totally hooked. I will be searching out coupons and sales from now on. And there are several websites to help with this. Here are a few:

day 9: take a picture today that showcases motion:
This was taken from the train window. I like that you can see the reflection of my feet :)
Day 10 - A picture that you took at one time that you love:
This one was taken at a 2009 Tea Party in Oceanside. It was my desktop picture for the longest time. I thought it was so cute and it really summed up why we are at all involved in the movement: our children and grandchildren. I want to pass on to them a country that still allows them the freedom and liberty that our Founders intended for all of us to have.

You are the gateway to fall, which means... football, Halloween, cool breezes, nights that get dark oh-so-early, lots of leaves and beautiful colors are right around the corner!
Of course, I could also be excited about September because I'm going to Hawaii this month...
This was taken on our trip to Washington DC in April of this year (one of my absolute favorite places to visit!). I'm standing in front of the Washington Monument. Here is a full picture of the monument:
The reason I love DC so much is because of this country's rich history and heritage. For example, did you know that on the east facing portion at the top of this monument are the words "Laus Deo" which mean "Praise be to God". I think it's only fitting that this phrase is what greets the sun rise each morning.
Here's one more picture (this one I took in 2007). This is a reflection of the Washington Monument in one wall of the Vietnam memorial:
